CONCEPT
ROCKY PIMENTO is the result of a whimsical idea that in 2015 came to songwriter, composer, arranger, and performer Jim "Roller" Corrao, to whom the name was given in an oddly-inspired moment, just as has been the case with each of the many pieces of music and lyrics, primarily in popular song form, that have come the way of the artist over many years. To Jim, who so often sees himself in the moment to be a bit impatient, Rocky in stark contrast by nature is a steady, always patient, ever-forward-moving alter-ego, so well characterized by the tortoise and the turtle.
MISSION
It is the mission of Rocky in each of its forms to celebrate, gain inspiration and spawn from, spread as widely as possible, and so honor, as many engaging, popular musical and visual, spiritual, and other influences as have and continue to energize, move, and inspire Rocky, as countless others, globally over the years. In this way, Rocky intends to continue to provide output that similarly energizes, moves, and inspires the beholder, which Rocky prays may include you, the ultimate judge within your own unique, cherished, personal, ever-expanding musical, artistic, and spiritual realm.
COLLABORATION
With the highly-experienced cooperation of two-time LA Music Producer of the Year and musician, Dino Maddalone, master videographer Gordon Michael, a greatly-blessed group of professional musicians who have recorded and toured with many of the world's most famous musical artists, and a good number of other spirited friends and contributors, Jim now looks to share in bringing the vision of Rocky Pimento to life.
THE TURTLE
As Rocky sees it, and as Katha teaches also, there is a compelling moral to every story, with every form of entertainment being, as having, a story, and that - as any story - art in essence creates itself through the artist as its lovingly-driven vehicle. Art feeds learning, as learning feeds art. After all is said and done, what more might a happy "old" turtle show that hasn't already been shown? Well, in Rocky's view, anyone can use at least a gentle reminder of this or that, here or there. The "older one" helps the "younger one" learn, and in so doing the older one in turn learns yet more from the younger one, joyfully uplifting each. To truly learn is to all at once be both the teacher and the student.
WHAT WE DO
Rocky Pimento is the name of multiple entities, including an entertainment enterprise "Rocky Pimento Music", a band "Rocky Pimento", one of the band's performers, staff, or followers, the spirit of all that is compelling and inspirational in music and the arts, and a manifestation of Corrao's favorite animal, the turtle, representing the virtues that have allowed that creature to endure and thrive, as demonstrated in the age-old story of "The Tortoise and the Hare".
INSPIRATION
Through its ultimate source, it is the unending hope and intent of Rocky to mutually inspire and be inspired by the chlidren of any age, from 1 year old to over 100 years old, one by one, with due respect for each such person with whom Rocky interacts, including you, Rocky's one of a kind counterpart, using expressions of music, art, entertainment, and individual sharing, all in great, ever-lasting fun.
